NUDE079: Juheun

Hailing from the stark and unyielding deserts of the United States, Juheun emerges from the dust with mind-warping, forward-thinking techno. Constantly searching for a perfect balance between analogue gear and the newest technology, he blurs the lines between the past and the future to create a modern and dynamic sound.

Following the huge international success of his immense four-part Acceleration EP on Octopus Recordings back in 2016, the hotly-tipped producer has become a regular fixture on the esteemed LA-based ever since, consistently pushing boundaries with his unique brand of mind-bending techno and unrelenting, avant-garde soundscapes. A permanent resident for Octopus’ hugely successful on-going Twitch live streaming programme and with numerous critically acclaimed releases clocked on the label since signing five years ago.

Today, he joins to the NUDE Podcast, check it out below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud. If you are feeling this series, then please consider supporting it on Mixcloud Select.

The Juheun Originals and remix of course!

Tell us about your next EP?
I have an EP coming up in October on Set About with a killer remix from non-other than Simina Grigoriu.

What have you got coming up?
I’m currently working on the next version of my all live set. I gave it a little break after touring with Sian for a few years with it. Ive got a load of new material I need to work in, along with some new pieces of gear for the setup including the new Maschine+ and the Fader Fox MX12 controller.

As far as shows I’ve got Los Angeles next weekend for our label showcase with the 6am, Work and Synthetik Minds crew on Sat July 24th. Really looking forward to that one as it’s our first Octopus label party since the lockdown. The day after I’ll be heading up to San Fransisco to play a show at the infamous Public Works. As shows start coming back online, ill be announcing more dates soon so be sure to follow my socials for the latest.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
