A-wing launches in Lancaster Prison

The lust for feeling the thump of electronic music remains one of the most enduring ideologies of any raver across the globe, with our passion to experience the rave beyond clubs, fields and warehouses undimmed. That feeling just got itself a brand new outlet, as A-Wing launches in a former prison on May 23rd.

The prison of Lancaster Castle was only stopped for that use in 2011, and remains a popular choice for films and TV dramas documenting prison life, but this will see it viewed in a whole new life. Sentencing begins on Friday 23rd with three jailbirds at the helm, Bestival founder Rob da Bank and bouncy house enthusiasts Joe Goddard and RAF Daddy aka The 2 Bears.

One day later A-wing team up with Carlisle promoters Uber to bring the mighty James Zabiela down, with support from Sonny Wharton and Hot Creations’ Denney. A day later and jailbird duty falls to Derrick Carter for one of his infamous Derrick does disco parties, a nice twist on disco’s illict beginnings on the New Jersey underground.

Tickets for all shows are £25 with tickets for Rob Da Bank & The 2 Bears’s opening night available below:

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
