Shanghaied Records first entered Earths atmosphere in January of 2017, making first contact with a BBC Radio 1 DJ / Presenter by the name of Monki. She was immediately drawn to the unique style and sounds of their transmissions so agreed to broadcast their first message (a track by Wax Worx by the name of ‘Bump Shake’) to the rest of the human race.

With two of Earth’s Dance Music’s ambassadors Ron Mexico & Wax Worx at the helm, the label quickly grew from strength to strength. Picking up established ship mates and castaways alike along the way, they quickly built a solid catalog of music that now reaches the far corners of the galaxy. They even went on to land a number 1 selling album with their first ever compilation on Traxsource.

2017 was quite a year for Wax Worx, having already cemented his name as ‘One To Watch’ with a string of high profile releases on labels such as Suara, Simma and Playmobil, and his music being played by industry heavyweights such as Carl Cox, Claude Von Stroke, Solardo, Santé and Todd Terry to name a choice few.   2018 see’s their one year anniversary of Shanghaied with it the second release on the imprint from Label Boss and Captain, Wax Worx. ‘By Drum’.

Keep your ears to the vortex for forthcoming music this year from the likes of Armistice, YADE, L.O.R.D.I.E, Roger That, Trutopia, Caruana, Dub Healey & Marcellus Wallace, Lucati and more!

‘By Drum’ is out now on Traxsource, go grab it now, all other download stores and streaming sites from February 9th.
