Yesterday we saw the launch of Toolroom Trax, the underground sector of Toolroom Records. The first EP released on the label is an “unrelenting slice of techno” from Gabriel Ben called ‘Detroit 500’, which you can check out a preview of below or grab a copy on Beatport.

You may remember Toolroom Trax years back when they brought our records like Dubfire’s ‘Roadkill’ and Shlomi Aber’s ‘Blonda’, but the imprint was pulled when they felt it was competing for the same music space with the main label. Now it’s time for Trax to return focusing more on the underground, “a label made by DJ’s for DJ’s” and we’re looking forward to seeing what these guys have got up their sleeves.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
