Todd Terry joins Simma Black

Todd Terry joins Simma ably assisted by T.Parry and Ant Thomaz on ‘Magic’.

Todd Terry needs little introduction. Responsible for kickstarting house music’s development beyond that of the Chicago original, his energised hybrid became the cutting edge sound that transfixed the UK and beyond. From the Hip House stylings of ‘I’ll House You’ to the pop crossover hits such as EBTG’s ‘Missing’, his midas touch solidified his place in dance music folklore.

‘Magic’ is classic Todd Terry. Hefty kicks and glistening percussion glide effortless along with cut-up disco samples and jazzy piano stabs. Ant Thomas on vocals provides a smooth-spoken word opus.

We premiere his ‘Club remix’ today for you, check it out below and grab it here.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
