Commercial trance fans were recently buoyed by news that Dutch scene icon Tiesto may be revisiting the genre with fresh material following his defection to all things EDM.  The trance superstar appears to have attempted to use the announcement to his advantage in the upcoming DJ Mag Top 100 poll with the promise of a full trance album in exchange for fans making him #1 DJ on DJ Mag’s  annual popularity contest.

Whilst we weren’t sure how seriously the statement could be taken given the increasingly light-hearted nature of some of Tiesto’s recent statements including an apparent desire to marry couples amongst other things we can now confirm that the Dutchman  has helped a couple get hitched in Las Vegas. Initially thought to one of the mischievous producers online jokes Tiesto held true to his word and duly did marry Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Sullivan as evidenced by seeing the DJ in their wedding photos. An original marketing coup or a genuine desire to help two people in love perform their nuptials? We’ll let you decide but it has got us thinking,  if we could have anyone who would we want to perform our ceremony?

This couple was chosen out of 15000 entries to get married by me! A unique one because I won’t marry anyone else! pic.twitter.com/CcJj9cp0Zo

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
