Things With Wings are back with a two-track EP of afro-inspired goodness, to be released on 16th September on Skrufix.

Heavily influenced by the production styles of modern Nigerian dance music, the hypermodern tracks are the first in a spate of new releases coming out on the innovative Berlin label in the second half of 2016.

“I’ve been playing a lot of Nigerian dance tracks recently, and it tends to be very vocal-heavy and not great to mix, so I’ve been making my own instrumental beats to mix with it,” says Things With Wings. “Shanghai [Burton] heard some of the tracks and thought we should put them out. Then [up-and-coming Berlin artist and friend of the label] Drømsjel heard the tracks and said he wanted to do the artwork for the cover – that’s when I realised this had to happen.”

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
