Theo Parrish Starts Wildheart Recordings

The expansive and genre-hopping DJ and producer that is Theo Parrish has revealed that he has launched a new imprint called Wildheart Recordings and that fans of his existing imprint Sound Signature should fear not as he intends to run the newer outlet alongside rather instead of his longer running label.

So what exactly is going to be the difference between the two labels? Well as the Plastic People resident  Theo himself explains “If the Sound Signature label releases are for the body, Wildheart is for everything else”.

Now whilst cryptic we believe that indicates that Wildheart will be running as a more experimental outlet releasing a more cerebral experimental sound that doesn’t necessarily translate as music for the dancefloor.  The first release for the burgeoning imprint is set to feature Theo himself as one half of collaborative project alongside acclaimed Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen for an effort entitled Day Like This/Feel Loved and will be available on both vinyl and digital formats alongside further contributions from Eska, former collaborator Andrew Ashong and David Okumu of the Invisible. Sounds good to us!

Wildheart Recordings will release ‘Day Like This/Feel Loved’ in May but for those of you can’t wait until then check out his ace joint effort with Andrew Ashong ‘Flowers’ below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
