System 7 Prep Simultaneous Album Releases

We’re long term admirers of System 7 here at Data Transmission; known for their assimilation of unfathomably deep techno into their esoteric ambient explorations we were more than a little excited to receive news that they would be following up the release of their 2011 album ‘Up’ with a new double LP for their own A-Wave imprint this autumn.

Marking the 21st anniversary of the release of their seminal ‘Fire’ and ‘Water’ dual albums, the ‘X-Port’ and ‘N-Port’ LPs presenting the full range of the veteran pairing’s work in the field of electronica with the second album coming under the duo’s Mirror System moniker.

‘X-Port’ promises to serve up a combination of “techno trance and live musicianship” and features collaborations with Alex Paterson of The Orb, Japanese band Rovo (with whom they released the collaborative album ‘Phoenix Rising’ in 2013), and James Monro, whilst ‘N-Port’ showcases the more downtempo, ambient sounds of their sister project with a focus on deep rolling grooves, dreamy electronics and softer tech-house elements.

Arriving October 16th, the duo will launch the albums with a series of special live shows, playing London’s The Jazz Cafe Wednesday October 28th before headlining the Megadog 30th Anniversary event at The Academy in Manchester on November 21st.
