We’re quite the fans of both Kode9 and Hyperdub here at DT. Thus you can imagine our excitement when it was revealed that Hyperdub boss would be helming the first part of the imprints compilation series to celebrate a decade in the industry.
Quite plainly to anyone who even knows a little about the Scotsman, a succession of the freshest cuts and unreleased bombs were going to make up the majority of what would released on Hyperdub 10.1 which was to be the first of four compilations the label would be delivering in 2014 and came complete with 20 fresh tracks from the likes of DJ Rashad, Mala, Kyle Hall and of course Kode9 himself.
Well now we’re gearing up for phase two of the milestone marking series with Hyperdub unveiling the second part of it’s tenth anniversary celebrations. Looking equally tasty, part two looks to shine a spotlight on the more R&B inclined numbers from the imprints back catalog alongside some of the more obscure efforts that makes up its extensive library.
Entitled Hyperdub 10.2 the sophomore edition of the anniversary releases series will land this July and like its illustrious predecessor will feature a slew of stellar names on its tracklist with efforts – some of which are previously unreleased- from the likes of Burial, Cooly G, Jessy Lanza, Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland, Ikonika, the late DJ Rashad and Kode9 himself. Exciting stuff.
