Steve Mac launches his new pseudonym These Machines with his remix for ‘Universal Control’

After an impressive first release, the NRTHRN XPRSS label is back with Harkonnen’s ‘Universal Control’, the release features two remixes of an original and a new guise born from a well decorated dance duo-the standout of which is by the legendary Steve Mac under his new ‘These Machines’ pseudonym.

NRTHRN XPRSS is run by Label heads, DJ Ricky Stone and Jonathan M Waller, who are both long time respected music industry figures, a DJ / producer and label manager respectively, who combine all their vast experience and understanding of different sounds and scenes on this new label.

The These Machines remix of ‘Universal Control’ is the debut outing project for Steve Mac‘s latest production project. Over 20 years plus, the pioneering Rhythm Masters man has become synonymous with a certain sound, but now wants to branch out and show his diversity. Focusing on a more musical style, his remix shifts seamlessly through house, acid and breaks with plenty of big pianos to perfectly capture the rave influenced, high energy vibe of this label. These Machines will also be releasing a single on NRTHN XPRSS later in the year.

‘Universal Control’ by Harkonnen is Released Worldwide on 9th March, grab a copy here.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
