Premiere: Sex Of Insects – I Can Hear The Acid (Alexi Delano Remix)

The Russian three-piece, Sex Of Insects have announced the release of “I Can Hear The Acid Remixes” EP on the 28th of September via Ylotana Music, including the original mix as well of remixes by Alexi Delano and Pablo Sanchez.

Their unique blend of vibrant vocals and electronic grooves came into fruition in May 2016, through the meeting of guitarist Anatoly Ylotana (Ylotana Project) Alexandra Bartashevich (Vocals) and Roman Korablove (Rhythm). At its core, Sex Of Insects uses improvised guitar sounds and vocals mixed with flamboyant electronic rhythm, and an almost complete absence of synthesisers. Anatoly lists their influences as Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and more recently Underworld, Daft Punk and Danny Tenaglia.

Our debut transmission is the Alexi Delano remix, he’s hailed as “the man who is made of music”, he takes the track on a much darker journey, remodelling it in his signature “Electroniq’ musique,” whilst simultaneously allowing it to retain the magnetism of its original trance-like oriental sound. This for us, is a 4am beast – perfect for those late slots, his clever use of the 303 is mind bending and will defiantly lead you down the rabbit hole.

Check it out below and check them out live at The Playground 10th Birthday this weekend!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
