Premiere: Dretraxx – Rich Dutch Kid Goes To Hell

PITS is a Detroit based record label that started as a series of after-hours events organized in hope to emphasize the importance of community in the electronic music underground. By connecting with many other artists around the city, founder John J Coyle found a gap in the ability for many to publish and market their music, spurning the beginning of the PITS imprint. The Place In Time and Space of perception contributes to the understanding of art and music and by curating these elements, PITS hopes to guide people to new sounds and sights that will intrigue and inspire.

For its 6th release, the label thus picked Dretraxx (aka Andrew Schireson), who has been a steadfast pillar of the local dance music scene for the past few years, hosting his events Body Worx at the esteemed Temple Bar in Detroit. His love for acid can be seen in the traditional smiley face incorporated into the series logo.

Hearkening back to raves of old, Dre came up with ‘Goon Zone EP’, which consists of three burning acid tracks including our debut transmission today ‘Rich Dutch Kid Goes To Hell’ that reminisce upon dark warehouses in Detroit and take listeners on a journey to a techno-filled underworld with a groove that will keep even the people there dancing.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
