Oliver Deutschmann returns with a really special track, ‘Energy’

OFF Recordings mainstay Oliver Deutschmann returns with a really special track, ‘Energy’ that’s as leftfield as functional, and could be well imagined at one of his Berghain sets – let’s hope those will soon return!

Berlin’s Oliver Deutschmann has gained a reputation over the last 15 years through his pure passion, diverse track selection and an unambiguous mixing ability. Years before he released his first EPs, he had already set himself on a path that would see him DJ all over the world, eventually leading to his adopted home of Berghain where he has lit up both rooms of the club dozens of times since first playing there almost ten years ago.

Deutschmann displays a distinct unwillingness to be pigeonholed in any one style and is right at home, whether he’s warming things up with an understated house groove or thrashing the big rooms with his grandiose brand of techno.

The track kicks off with the eponymous ‘Energy’ vocal sample, and syncopated percussions, builds with energetic hats, to introduce a timeless chord theme. Add to that a heavily reverbed kick and ever-evolving tension curve thanks to a great arrangement, and out comes a perfect track.

Check out ‘Energy’ on our NUDE Techno channels today, and grab it on Beatport.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
