As you may have guessed by our extensive coverage of all things Nils Frahm in recent times, we’re quite the fans of the multi-faceted composer, musician and producer here at Data Transmission.  Whether it be the surprise release of a new album, embarking upon a new collaborative project or making us re-evaluate the role of the piano in contemporary music via his awe inspiring live performances, Nils never fails to impress.

Thus, news that he had a new collaborative album called ‘The Gamble’ en route for the start of next year on resurgent Belgian powerhouse R&S was always going to cause quite a commotion here at DT towers. Working under the name nonkeen, the album sees Nils reform his childhood band  alongside fellow original members Frederic Gmeiner and Sebastian Singwald as they seek to recapture the essence of their teenage enthusiasm.

Set to arrive February 5th, nonkeen have now shared the official video to album cut ‘chasing god through palmyra’.

“The video for ‘chasing god through palmyra’ was drafted, filmed and edited by FELD in close collaboration with nonkeen and the mectub railway club Berlin,” reveal the band. “It portrays the close friendship between a man and a machine bonded by their escape fantasies as they circle together on an endless loop along the tracks of life inside a repetitive and psychedelic world.”
