Nila & Triggs combine on ‘Rush / Kill The Groove’

Share

Nila & Triggs are both established artists with a long history of releases stretching back over 20 years. Their work includes releases on Evolution’s seminal Fluid Recordings, Hooj Choons, ICONYC, Krafted, Endemic, Manmademusic, A Rec, Sony, Columbia and many more.

When they both separately relocated to New Zealand it became very clear their musical tastes and history bound them as artists. It was inevitable they would work together. This ‘Rush / Kill The Groove’ EP via Stripped Digital is their very first collaboration. From the very first note, it was a spark of ideas and a coming together of technique with a backbone of musical heritage.

The remixers were chosen because of their impact on the duo from a long-standing perspective and a brand new one. Moonface has been a friend since Bedrock’s Futurized had a global impact on electronic music.

Our premiere comes from Bute for his remix of ‘Rush’. It’s another human with a talent to coax beautiful, and unique noises from machines. His tech-funk sound is inescapably different, groove-based but emotive, wide and deep. There is a soul, deep within screaming to be released through his music and we just needed to be part of that journey.

Check out Bute’s remix of ‘Rush’ below and the whole EP on Beatport.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
