One of our favorite producers in recent years, the eclectic maverick that is Nicolas Jaar’s confirmation that alongside collaborator and friend Dave Harrington he would be releasing a full album under the joint moniker of Darkside generated much excitement at DT HQ. Released on Jaar’s Other People imprint the release followed up from the duos debut effort together back in 2011, the Darkside EP on his now defunct label Clown & Sunset and their excellent remix of Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories.
Constantly keeping us guessing in regards of what he’ll do next we can now reveal that he’s followed up composing the score for zombie series ‘The Returned’ for US network A&E with by teaming up with Chicago house veteran DJ Slugo for a new track entitled ‘Ghetto’.
Inspired by “recent events” the track has surfaced via Jaar’s Other People label and features Slugo providing a hard hitting narration of the grim reality of life in the ghetto. It’s unclear whether or not the production will see an official release on the label but we hope it’s not the last time we see Slugo and Jaar collaborate.
