It seems like it has been a very long wait since electronic 3 piece Moderat, the amalgamation of eclectic duo Modeselektor and techno don Apparat first announced they’d be following up their enormously successful eponymous first album together with a second full length studio effort entitled ‘Moderat II’  and we’ve waited patiently for new content. The wait to hear part of the sophomore album was shortened as the trio revealed that they’ll be dropping the first single ‘Bad Kingdom’ on July 12th.

True to their maverick nature the boundary pushing project has now embarked on a fresh venture for fans of the outfit as Modeselektor and Apparat have also joined forces for a series of a series of experiments to be broadcast online. The experiments are apparently indicative of the 4 years of growth, trial, error and deeper exploration, and have billed the outcome of the second merger of the two artists as being “hypothesized as a brilliant new anomaly”.

Representing their freedom to morph and mutate Moderat are sharing visual analogies in a series of “small Dadaistic experiments” that have been realized with the help of help of skilled scientists, specialists and DDB Tribal Berlin and will be publicly displayed at Platoon Kunsthalle in Berlin. Do you know what happens when bacteria is sampled, compounded and grown? Well this is just one of a series of other curious experiments the trio will be undertaking until the album drops this August. Gentleman you had our attention but now you also have our curiosity!
