Mix Of The Day: Tom Hades

Tom Hades is a DJ who needs little introduction, but just in case you’ve been living under a techno-proof rock for the last 15 years, we’re going to give him one anyway.

Kicking off his career proper back in 2001, when he dropped mega-hit ‘I Love Techno’ with friend and collaborator Marco Bailey, the Belgian has since gone on to grace the likes of Drumcode, Bedrock and Bailey’s MB Elektronics with his productions, along with clubs and festivals across the globe with his sets.

After setting up his Rhythm Convert label with Bailey in the mid-2000s, Hades relaunched the imprint as a solo project in 2010, changing (or should we say converting) the name to Rhythm Converted in the process. Then, earlier this year, the label hit a major milestone in its 100th release, and with that Hades announced yet more changes.

Feeling that it has become evermore difficult for artists and labels to stand out in an over-saturated market, Hades promised an updated logo, fresh sound, new artwork and “more focus on a family identity.” Through this Hades hopes to create a sense of exclusivity and nurture talent to create a passionate and technically adept unit to rival his own standards.

Now that we’ve practically given you Hades’ life story, it’s probably about time we piped down and let him… or rather, his music… do the talking!
