In eight years Croatia has grown to become the go to country for festivals-with around 14 events happening peak season. This could be down to a number of facts distributed via tweed coated lecturer : flight prices, the currency, the climate, but a large part of it could be down to the DNA coding: the beach, boat party and holiday vibe that permeates all Croatian festivals with Hideout, Dimensions and Unknown all fast becoming must attend events in many clubbers calendars.

Thus with the annual onslaught on Balearic themed mix compilations it was inevitable that Ibiza’s Dalmatian rival would start seeing some Croatian themed compilations make their way onto the shelves to capture the spirit of the Balkans.  Ministry Of Sound have been the first to release a mix with the former Yugloslavian country in mind with the release of ‘Croatia Sessions’ witch drawing inspiration from the region has compiled a double-disc collection featuring 28 electronic, house and techno tracks across two continuous mixes. Featuring the sounds of Disclosure, Nina Kraviz , Loco Dice, TEED and KiNK , Croatia Sessions is set for release on August 19th to make all of us not lucky enough to attend this years, beach, club and boat parties in the Balkans all the bit that more jealous.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
