Ministry of Sound partners with UK’s largest national freshers’ tour
Ministry of Sound has exclusively teamed up with The Big Freshers Pass to bring its global brand of dance music to 10 of the biggest University towns and cities across the UK.
Originally formed as The Big Freshers Icebreaker in 2009, its new moniker ‘The Big Freshers Pass’ has established itself as the biggest freshers’ company in the country. Having previously attracted over half a million students, the team are already expecting an early sell out with 100,000 tickets this academic year.
2022 will see The Big Freshers Pass tour in 28 cities up and down the country, with 10 of the shows backed by Ministry of Sound. MoS will feature in Bristol, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Portsmouth and Southampton.
The lineups for the Ministry collabs are under wraps for now but a spokesperson from The Big Freshers Pass said to expect the “hottest artists from each city under the MoS label”. What we do know is with Ministry being the superclub juggernaut that it is since 1991, the official ‘Ministry of Sound Closing Party’ will soundtrack three decades worth of tunes for today’s students.
The Big Freshers Pass, or familiarly known to students as ‘The Freshers Pass’ is a unique sort of pass, in the sense that it’s not formatted as a wristband, rather a three-part pass, allowing students to attend events without the commitment to an entire week of parties. Pick the ones you fancy to create an exclusive experience, building in sufficient time between each event for a well-needed break.
This year the pass will include three largescale events for students in every city, ‘The Big Freshers Icebreaker’ (The opening night of freshers), ‘The Big Freshers Closing Party’ (The Finale of Freshers week) and ‘The Halloween Nightmare’ (The Halloween Special).
