Massive Attack are set to play a gig at Dismaland, the temporary theme park set up by artist Banksy in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset.
Open from August 22nd to September 27th, the park is a dark take on Disneyland , featuring work from over 50 artists including Damien Hirst, Jenny Holzer, Jimmy Cauty and of course, Banksy. Taking over the derelict Tropicana venue in Weston-Super-Mare, Banksy said: “I’ve dreamed of installing a theme park on this site ever since I walked past the building six months ago and peered through a gap in the fence.”
Each Friday the venue will play host to artists such as Massive Attack, DJ Yoda, Kate Tempest, Pussy Riot, Run The Jewels and Peanut Butter Wolf, whilst throughout the week visitors can enjoy attractions such as the Grim Reaper Dodgems, Water Cannon Creek, Pocket Money Loans and Jeffrey Archer Memorial Fire Pit. Talk about taking the Mickey…
