E.B.E. is a 90’s inspired sci-fi house session: acid, house and electro inspired dance floor tools from Maheras, which has our debut transmission for today from Radioactive Man on remix duties.

Brooklyn born Jimmy Maheras started to fiddle with knobs and faders back in the late 90s. With NYC as his musical playground, Jimmy frequented electronic music’s most legendary clubs. These gritty nights of beats and bass, laid the foundation for Jimmy’s music career.  LA vinyl imprint Into The Woods continues a steady growth this summer as Jimmy Maheras as he continues his solo exploration on E.B.E.

“E.B.E.,” the title cut from the release, bumps synthetic drums underneath a mysterious bass line and Fox Mulder sample for a playful 90’s inspired outing while “Pusher,” the record’s A2 cut, is a moody DJ tool that combines playful melodies and chord stabs atop steady hand clap and breakbeat: a perfect transition tool for bridging house and electro.

On the flip., Keith Tenniswood’s aka Radioactive Man remix of “E.B.E.” brings a thumping breakbeat to the groove while maintaining many elements of the original track re-interpreted through rhythm. “Vision” closes out this EP in style with a mysterious electro groove and sampled vocal that drift into hyperreal space amidst effervescent pads.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
