London Elektricity releases ‘Funkopolis’ on Sick Music 2019

Press shot

Hospital Records co-founder London Elektricity has released his contribution to Hospital’s Sick Music 2019 album. Dropping next Friday (26th), the album is compiled of 25 new and exclusive tracks from Hospital and Med School artists including Fred V, S.P.Y, Metrik, Grafix, Logistics, Whiney, Unglued, Benny L, Flava D, Bou, Pete Cannon, Gridlok and many more.

London Elektricity’s addition to the album is the dynamic funk-ladened D+B spectacular, ‘Funkopolis’. It is an instrumental track using a full orchestra and is a creative and inspired composition full of suspense brought by the strings, horns and rolling drums. Genius!

London Elektricity had this to say:

‘Funkopolis sees me returning to one of the original aspects of London Elek – the drumfunk sound that made our first album ‘Pull the Plug’ so distinctive. This time, however, I’ve gone for a Bernard Hermann meets Jungle flavour. Bernard Hermann wrote almost all of Hitchock’s movie scores, best known for his Psycho score. Being a massive movie soundtrack buff, I relished the challenge of making a jazz-funk jungle romper that sounds like Hermann without actually sampling him! My trusty Orchestra Galactica came to the rescue, and they feature heavily on almost every track on the new album.
With this album I have let my inner madman come to the fore, which is a polite way of saying i don’t give a fuck about what anyone thinks anymore – life’s too short!
Although Funkopolis is an instrumental, There’ll be at least 7 or 8 full vocal tunes on the album, featuring vocalists I’ve worked with before like Elsa Esmeralda, Emer Dineen, and new vocalist Bulgarian Godess. You read that right by the way.
Sending you all the love I have in the form of music.
