Liam Mour ‘Into You’ has arrived, and it’s built for the late hours. The Porto-based producer teams up with newcomer Kind on a raw two-step cut. It also comes with a striking visual to match.
The track opens on a deep, haunting synth line. Then the beat slips into a loose, broken shuffle. Reese bass pulses underneath, rolling and patient. Kind’s vocal floats over the top, lush and calm. It’s made for a dark basement at 3am. It works just as well on headphones for the walk home.
Mour is a longtime resident at Funkhaus Berlin, where he also works in its recording studios. His sound leans dusky and analogue, with broken beats and dreamy melodies at its core. He’s trained in piano and guitar, and you can hear it in the songwriting. Before going solo, he spent years as a crew member for Nils Frahm. In 2023, he landed a track on Frahm’s ‘Piano Day Vol. 2’ compilation. That same year, he sold out his debut solo live show at Funkhaus Berlin Saal 1.
The CV keeps stacking up. He’s toured with Gold Panda and SOHN, and opened for Four Tet and Max Cooper. His debut single ‘Douro’ premiered with Mary Anne Hobbs. Four EPs followed, racking up more than 50 million streams across Spotify and Apple Music. Support has come from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, plus Mixmag, Clash, Kaltblut, Earmilk and Magnetic Mag.
Away from the club, Mour scores for film and TV. His credits include feature films for Amazon Prime, Leonine and Constantin Film. He also scored a six-part crime series for HBO Max. That work earned him a Best Composer nomination at the 2024 Deutscher Fernsehpreis.
Kind, meanwhile, is a multi-instrumentalist based between Germany and Portugal. She focuses mainly on guitar and vocals. She’s built a following of more than 280,000, with over 60 million views across her content. Madonna follows her too, which isn’t a bad co-sign. ‘Into You’ is her first official appearance as an artist. Her debut solo single is next in line.
Liam Mour ‘Into You’ is a slow-burner that rewards repeat plays. Broken rhythms, rolling bass and a voice that sticks. Kind is one to watch, and this is a strong first look.
