30 Years of Kiesgrube: Europe’s Longest Running Open-Air Club Unveils Full 2026 Season

Germany knows how to do open-air properly. Sun above. Bass below. Dust rising from the dancefloor. And in 2026, 30 years of Kiesgrube lands with serious energy.

Running from Sunday 19th April until Sunday 30th August, Kiesgrube’s 30th season celebrates three decades of one of Europe’s most respected open-air electronic music venues. What began back in 1996 as a weekly Sunday gathering has grown into a legendary fixture on the European circuit. A place where dancers travel miles for that unmistakable open-air buzz.

Thirty years later, the venue has been rebuilt and refreshed for a new chapter. The Kiesgrube 30th year celebrations arrive with expanded dance areas, upgraded infrastructure and a powerful new L-Acoustics sound system ready to shake the trees.

Founder Tom Preuss says the mission remains simple. Protect the spirit. Push the experience forward. Keep that direct connection between artist and crowd alive.

“Over the last three decades, Kiesgrube has remained independent, defined by its raw, unfiltered connection between artist and audience. For the 30th anniversary, our intention is to protect this spirit while preparing it for the decades ahead. Not only for Düsseldorf, but for the wider European dance music community.” – Tom Preuss

That connection has always been the heartbeat of Kiesgrube. It is never just about the names on the poster. It is about the feeling. The shared moment when the groove locks in and the whole place moves as one.

The Kiesgrube 30th year programme is stacked with global heavyweights and underground heroes alike. The warm-up begins on Sunday, 19th April, with a special Pre-Opening Open Air led by Maceo Plex. Expect deep rolling grooves and sunset energy to get things started.

Then the official opening lands on Friday, 1st May, as Peggy Gou takes charge alongside Dennis Cruz. A proper kick-off for the summer.

The weeks ahead bring serious variety across house and techno territory. WhoMadeWho arrive on Thursday, 14th May. Pawsa follows on Sunday, 25th May, with his signature rolling grooves and cheeky basslines.

Summer momentum builds fast. Black Coffee returns on Sunday, 14th June, bringing deep hypnotic energy. One week later, Amelie Lens steps up on Sunday, 21st June for a high-voltage techno session.

One of the biggest moments of the season drops on Sunday, 28th June. Jamie Jones and The Martinez Brothers lead a stacked showcase alongside Vintage Culture and Paco Osuna. Expect pure dancefloor chaos.

July keeps the pressure high. Cocoon icon Sven Väth returns on Sunday, 12th July, alongside Dixon b2b Jimi Jules for a masterclass in musical storytelling.

August brings a full weekend experience as Mahmut Orhan takes over both indoor and outdoor spaces. Later in the month, Boris Brejcha and Andrea Oliva arrive for more peak-time power.

Finally, the Kiesgrube 30th season closes in style on Sunday, 30th August, with a huge back-to-back. Joseph Capriati b2b Mau P take control for a finale built for sunrise moments and serious hands-in-the-air energy.

Set among trees, sand and open sky, Kiesgrube has always delivered that Ibiza-style freedom without losing its underground edge. DJs are close. The crowd is closer. Every drop hits harder.

Thirty years deep and still moving strong. Kiesgrube proves some dancefloors never lose their magic.
