Javi Bora, Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax combine on ‘Unknown Beat’ EP

Share

Kwench Records looks to Spain for its next dispatch. Regular collaborators Javi Bora and duo Iban Montoro and Jazzman Wax proving there’s strength in numbers as they deliver a loaded two-track outing.

Meeting in Ibiza, where Javi Bora is most famously known as a former resident of Space Ibiza, as a united force they’ve been honing their skills since 2016, with them dropping a stream of groove-packed, energetic house cuts on coveted labels Robsoul Recordings, MadTech, Nervous Records, Simma Black, Do Not Sleep and Reptile Dysfunction, as well as their own imprints Too Many Rules and MoodyHouse Recordings.

Lured back to the roots of house music, they delved into the formative years of the early ‘90s as a source of inspiration. Our premiere is ‘Glimmer’ which slickly cuts in with a jackin’ attitude that completes this raw throwback.

“Everybody knows it – Ibiza is home to some of the best parties in the world, and like me, all three of these guys know the island’s clubs inside and out. This label is all about illuminating the dancefloor and where better to drop Kwench tracks that than Ibiza. This EP comes out as the island heads into its final weeks of the summer, and I’ll be giving these a blast across the island.” – Cassy

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
