Is there a busier man in music right now than DFA founder and head honcho James Murphy? Since disbanding the incredibly popular LCD Soundsystem in 2011 the former frontman of the group has been filling up his CV working on projects with Arcade Fire, Pulp, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kathleen Hanna’s The Julie Ruin in addition to launching a court case against former DFA partner Tim Goldsworthy, designing his own custom soundsystem and penning a broadway show.

Of the many projects James has been embarking on it was probably either his soundtracking of a play or his work with Montreal based indie outfit Arcade Fire that most piqued our interest. Now the bands latest single produced in conjunction with the DFA founder has leaked online and sent forums buzzing with anticipation of further collaborative works to come. Entitled ‘Reflektor’ the track is the first single to be taken of the album of the same name and comes complete with a video ditrected by Anton Corbjin.

It is one of several efforts produced by Murphy for the album and subtly carries backing vocals from pop royalty in David Bowie. With the album not due out until the end of October those of you keen to glean some insight into what the album has in store can check out the video for ‘Reflektor’ below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
