Hot off the press, Chemical Brothers join forces with pop aficionados  Miguel and Lorde on their new track ‘This Is Not A Game’ given the light of radio air time last night (October 20th) by Zane Lowe on his Radio 1 show.

Having curation duties for the ‘Hunger Games’ soundtrack, Lorde explicitly requested for The Chemical Brothers to produce while she and Miguel took control of the vocals. Conforming with the films ominous theme, The Chemical Brothers have created an underlying dark theme as the foundations for the two singers to work with to great effect.

Miguel takes hold of the track almost solely with Lorde adding layers to the track, which complements the desired dark soul of the track. Certainly something different from artists involved, showing how good production and careful cameo appearances can go a long way.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
