HAAi to end residency at Phonox this September

After 2 years the Brixton club, Phonox have announced HAAi’s residency will come to a close this September. HAAi’s journey has seen her go from unknown DJ to one of the most celebrated talents in the scene. She will play all night long from September 01 to September 22 with some very special unannounced guests joining her for the finale on Saturday 29 September.

A message from HAAi:

How’s this right,
Two guys take a punt on an unheard of DJ from Australia and put her in (arguably) one of the best clubs in Europe for 6 hours every Saturday, in charge of keeping an army of 600 ravers raving week in week out. They encourage a rebirth of an old night she threw in East London (Coconut Beats), providing the budget to bring in a dream list of guest DJs from all around the world.
Mental right? Happened. Happened to cute lil me.

There is no tangible way to show exactly how much this place and the people in it have enriched my life.
Every single person, from head office, all the babes on the bar, all the security and door staff who keep the club safe every week, Ciara the General Manager, the bar backs who work tirelessly. Every single person in that place has contributed to this. You are all friends for life and I hope I was able to return the favour. Andy Peyton, Ryan Philips, Joe Shabadoo, Brendan Duval and Jacques Greene for giving me my first warm up slot which lead to the residency. Cass O’grady for always having my Fkn back.

To all the guests who I was able to share the booth with. Love ya’s <3

On the 29th September, at the two year mark (564 hours spent inside that booth), I will play the last set as the current Phonox resident. A badge I have worn proudly since the very beginning.  It’s time for me to play all the other clubs n festys now and more importantly, time for someone else to have the chance to make this place their own.

Thank you to everyone who came and danced, to all the missed high fives and sweaty hugs, to the encouraging smiles. For all the bangers and clangs and occasional transcendent moments, I hope you all feel it is your home as much as it has been mine.

Come dance with me one final time at the month of closing parties where I will be playing start to finish, with the exception of a couple of very special guests for the very last party.

Fkn love ya’s forev, n I’ll see you on the other side.

Bye x

The new Saturday night resident will step into HAAi’s big shoes on October 06 and they will be revealing who it’ll be soon – they said “someone with serious energy and charisma who will take us in another direction entirely. With deep musical roots, this is someone we are certain will stand up to the job of bringing the party each and every week”

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
