It’s been only 3 days since influential DJ and producer The Gaslamp Killer left the hospital after suffering a horrendous, near fatal accident whilst riding a scooter but it appears the incident hasn’t dampened the spirits of the artist as he’s revealed details about what occurred on the fateful night in question.

After cancelling a series of shows in Europe and Asia, Gaslamp has shockingly told press that he was a mere 3 hours away from death via internal bleeding after the accident in which the wind blew off his hat, he removed a hand from his scooter and tried to apply the brakes but instead of slowing down the bike flipped over with almost lethal consequences as the producer himself explains  “It flew on top of me and I was going downhill. And it felt like when a super villain pounds the superhero into the concrete, and it breaks. I felt pummeled underneath the pressure. It could have bent me in half”.

Candidly, Gaslamp continues to outline the various stages of his treatment, re vealing that he no longer has a spleen and a series of staples across his chest as a result of the incident The producer also spoke about further health considerations that the accident has imparted on him including that he could no longer drink alcohol or take drugs “I literally could fucking die from alcohol. I could load up and turn blue and die from a night of drinking. Fall asleep and not wake up. I’m not talking like ecstasy and coke. I’m not even talking psychedelics. Just drinking.”

Realising he was fortunate to survive the accident at all Gaslamp has taken a positive outlook to the enforced time off adding “I feel like I was given this opportunity to slow the fuck down again, and get inside my own head, and really try and create some dope music instead of fucking burning my brains out. It’s time for me to go back inside my soul and see what comes out.”

We hope to see the undoubtedly talented producer back on his feet in the near future revitalized and brimming with fresh ideas. Get well soon!
