The music of the late, great disco legend Donna Summer is to be given a celebratory remix package to commemorate the diva’s career with reworkings from some of the industry’s biggest names including house innovator Frankie Knuckles, indie funsters Hot Chip, Chromeo and naturally long term collaborator Giorgio Moroder.

Entitled ‘Love To Love You Donna’ the tribute compilation is set for release October 22nd via Verve Records and see’s some of electronic music’s brightest and best line up to pay homage to Donna’s long and fruitful career with the ‘Godfather Of House’ Frankie Knuckles teaming up with Eric Kupper to reimagine ‘Hot Stuff’ whilst Hot Chip deliver their take on ‘Sunset People’ as Chromeo & Oliver remix ‘Love Is In Control’.

Perhaps most interestingly the album sees Daft Punk collaborator Giorgio Moroder revisit his hit ‘Love To Love You Baby’ which he co-wrote with Donna back in 1976. Having recently spent time in the studio with EDM superstar Avicii it came as little surprise that the 2013 mix has a decidedly big room feel to it as was revealed when he premiered the remix at the Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
