“The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.” – This ominous opening statement sets the scene for the brand new video to the metallic stepper ‘Cybertime’ from Liar, released on Infinite Machine back in May. ‘Cybertime’ is said to be Liar’s is attempt to visualise cyberspace in 4D: “he imagines not only every single point in infinite 3D space theoretically collapsed to a single point upon digitally trivializing distance, but, furthermore, the collapse of every discrete instance of said 3D space into a single, non-linear event, upon digitally trivializing time.” Confused yet? Essentially the Romanian has twisted up an brutal piece of dubstep destined to see many a rewind.

Taking this dimensional warping further, Liar’s video sees a 3D animated temple form and sway to the beat, each rock solid snare adding another piece of the puzzle. As the track progresses the clip gets increasingly odd (watch out for the stretching head), but remains strangely mesmerising. Check it out below:

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
