In a time where labels have become increasingly like miniature movements and the artists on a stable increasingly like a team there are still fewer imprints that have such a tightly knitted ensemble as the guys at Eglo with FunkinEven, Fatima, Arp 101, Gifted & Blessed and Miss Beatz, all regularly playing in tandem with each other well as with label bosses Floating Points and Alexander Nut.
Purporting a deliberately eclectic variety of diverse sounds ranging across the musical spectrum from house to hip-hop, jazz and everything in between the London based imprint have had a summer to remember with a plethora of strong releases, the pick of which was undoubtedly the eponymous Dirg Gerner EP.
The standout track of that EP, entitled ‘Vicious Cycle’ has now been given a full video treatment which perfectly encapsulates the sense melancholia that runs throughout the track as it follows Dirg around the streets of New York yearning to rekindle a lost love.
