Dusky Launch New Label 17 Steps

After a madly busy 2013 for Dusky with the Nobody Else’ EP being released in May quickly followed by the ‘Vanishing Point’  EP on Naked Naked and a host of other 12”s making their way onto the likes some of the scenes hottest labels  you’d be forgiven thinking that the blistering pace they set last year was unsustainable.

Rather than slow down the duo have decided to up the ante with the formation of their own label 17 Steps which will be inaugurated with their own July 14 release entitled ‘Love Taking Over’. Billed as taking influence from “British rave aesthetics” we’ve high hopes for the imprint for the coming summer and beyond.

Speaking on the launch of the new imprint Dusky or Nick Harriman and Alfie Granger-Howell as their friends and family know them had the following to say: “Over the last few years our identity as artists has continued to grow and crystallise into something we never envisaged possible. The introduction of 17 Steps feels like a natural phase in our development, and a logical move that enables us to take more control of our musical identity and provide a platform for music by other artists that we believe in.”

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
