Fourteen years ago a young American musician in Japan sent a package containing a CDR to Big Dada with hopes of being that “avant garde dancehall” that they were looking for; fast forward to 2014 and that same musician now runs his own label Mad Decent and is better known for his Grammy-nominated productions with the likes of Beyonce and Justin Bieber.

We are of course talking about Wesley Pentz AKA Diplo, who seems to be looking to give someone else a leg up in the industry after posting four a cappella hooks from tracks ‘Biggie Bounce’ tracks ‘6th Gear’, ‘Revolution’ ‘and ‘Express Yourself’ (ft. Nicky Da B) on twitter with the request for fans to “do something creative with ’em”. So without further ado allow us to present said a capella’s to you…

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
