Debut Transmission: Sofie Letitre – Home (Thys Remix)

Singer-songwriter Sofie Letitre drops her debut EP, Uncanny Valley, on vinyl and digital this Monday via Noisia‘s leftfield-focused Division Recordings.

Listening through the six tracks of alternative electronica, it’s easy to see why Sofie is widely viewed as one of the most promising Dutch talents of the moment. Working alongside producer Thijs de Vlieger of Noisia and band colleague Ferdy van der Singel, Sofie has crafted a sound that’s as sharp as a dagger but still as heavy as the hammer that forged it.

As seems to be the case with much vocal-driven electronica, Uncanny Valley is ripe for remixing and a host of producers have been drafted in to do the honours. Our favourite however, comes from Thijs himself (as Thys for pronunciation reasons we assume), who builds upon the popping beat of ‘Home’, twisting the track into a hypnotic juke/footwork roller.
