Debut Transmission: Hervé – Doughnuts Revenge

Hervé has returned with a brand new 4-track EP for Skint Records called ‘Dance To My Beat’ and as you can probably guess by the fact we’re premiering a cut from it, we’re quite the fans of the record here at Data Transmission.

One of the most acclaimed dance music producers of the past decade, we’re long term admirers of the Cheap Thrills boss here in London with his work under his many alias –  such as Machine’s Don’t Care, Speaker Junk, Voodoo Chilli and Action Man – never failing to impress.

Serving up a four track salvo of genre-defying no holds barred electronica, the EP is an exercise in versatility, opening with a Baltimore rapper TT’s high-energy verses over a trademark bouncing bassline, whilst the chorus’ catchy melody is formed of chopped up robotic vocals, demanding listeners to “dance to my beat”. Impressive as that is our pick of the bunch however is  the cryptically titled ‘Doughnuts Revenge’ which with its infectious bass lines and a rave style piano section, will surely have any dancefloor jumping.

Warning: DT takes no responsibility for any damage caused by the ferocious movements listening to this track may induce.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
