The sun to rise. It to rain at least once during Glastonbury. DJ Sneak to be at war with someone on twitter. People breathe oxygen. Deadmau5 to be controversially pouring scold on the EDM scene. Somethings in life are just universal truths that we’ve become so used to that we almost take them for granted, thus when it was brought to our attention that Canadian mouse-head wearing producer Deadmau5 had again launched a vitriolic rant about the current state of electronic music were less than surprised.
It now appears that the outspoken DJ has been inspired by Daleri with their 54 second mash-up that sought to draw attention to how startlingly similar some of the current beatport top 100 tracks sound as 16 different efforts were compiled into one coherent drop laden piece with a joke effort of his own. Entitled ‘Drop The Bomb’ the spoof lashes out at what Deadmau5 perceives to be a current commercial electronic landscape devoid of originality as producers stick to formulaic dance music to ensure they stay radio friendly unit shifters as the Mau5 explained in a recent twitter outburst at Dutch EDM star Afrojack tweeting “100% of people, expect to hear new things, ever evolving sounds and compositions, new genres, originality. F*ck your Mcdonalds.”
