Spanish House master David Penn has released his latest single, ‘Satisfy My Soul’, via his own Urbana Recordings imprint. The new release is built around a forgotten sample from his personal archive. As a result, it blends classic 90s house influences with the polished production that has defined his career.
The track combines the unmistakable sound of the iconic M1 organ with crisp percussion and infectious vocal hooks. Consequently, it has already become a proven dancefloor weapon. Penn has tested it extensively during recent DJ sets. Early support has come from David Guetta, Sam Divine, Claptone, Low Steppa, Vanilla Ace and Graeme Park.
The idea came after Penn rediscovered an old organ sample buried deep within his collection. He then paired it with the signature M1 organ sound and 90s inspired drums. From there, the track came together quickly.
“I knew straight away there was something special about it,” says Penn. “From the first time I roadtested it at Madam in Amsterdam, people began approaching me in the booth mid set to ask for the track ID. Since then, it has received an amazing reaction everywhere I’ve played it. Most recently, I dropped it at Amnesia for Glitterbox and Jackie’s in Barcelona, as well as on the main stage at Ibiza Pride and again later that night at Club Chinois. I can’t wait to see how people respond once they really get to know the track.”
Meanwhile, the release follows another successful period for David Penn. Recent highlights include his collaboration with Vintage Culture and Raphaella on ‘Just Stay The Night’. He also revisited the Kadoc classic ‘Nighttrain’ to celebrate its 30th anniversary. In addition, Penn has released music on Toolroom, Golden, PIAS, Jackies and Fool’s Paradise.
Now, ‘Satisfy My Soul’ arrives as Penn prepares for another busy summer on the road. His schedule includes performances across Ibiza, Croatia, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK. Additionally, festival appearances include Beats 4 Love, Defected Malta and Love to be…
