In an era when all it takes to start your own imprint is the time to think of a catchy name, a friend who fancies themselves a producer after spending a few minutes on cubase and a computer to upload your ‘music’ from it’s fair to say the electronic music scene has been suffering from a problem of the quantity over quality. Thus when a small label genuinely grabs our attention and separates itself from the various pretenders then you know that the people behind such an imprint are on to a good thing.

One such label to separate themselves from the crowd has been impressive Parisian collective ClekClekBoom who ever since their first release back in September 2011, have been putting out some of the most interesting and innovative electronic music to come out of the French capital for some time.

Headed up by the comically monikered producer French Fries (whom we caught up with recently) the label has now announced that they will soon be releasing the follow up to last years acclaimed opening edition of their Paris Club Music label compilation series with the eagerly awaited second instalment set to land this summer. Spread across two discs the release will again be split between existing tracks in the labels back catalogue and exclusive new cuts crafted especially for the compilation.

Scheduled to arrive June 30 and featuring efforts from the likes of Jean Nipon, Manaré, Bambounou and label boss French Fries himself we fully expect this album to be on both our playlist  and yours for some time.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
