Chroma joins the Spotlight Mix Series

Australian producer Chroma makes his Unlearn debut with the searingly brilliant tech house two-tracker ‘When You Need It / Crazy’.

Chroma (AU) is a DJ and producer residing in Perth, Western Australia. After performing at numerous local gigs within Perth, he started to produce his own electronic music in early 2022 with a vision to create music for the Australian club scene. Although a relatively new talent in the industry, he has already started to develop a signature sound within his tracks which emphasises deep rolling baselines, dreamy synths and an infectious groove.

Lead track When You Need It pulsates with an infectious groove that hooks the listener from the first few bars. Its driving rhythm intertwines with a captivating spoken word vocal, reminiscent of the golden era of house music. The blend of futuristic elements and classic sensibilities will leave dance floors ablaze.

Crazy is another stand-out cut, with a relentless bassline that gives way to another hypnotic spoken word vocal. The fusion of vintage-inspired nostalgia and modern production techniques creates an intoxicating sonic tapestry that will captivate even the most discerning of house fans.

Chroma (AU) has opened for the likes of Tom Santa, Airwolf Paradise and Mele, and has charted twice in the top 20 on the Beatport Tech House Hype chart. He will continue to provide electronic music to lovers around the globe throughout 2023 and beyond.

A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
