Following the huge success of ‘Can’t Do Without You’, the lead single from forthcoming album ‘Our Love’, Caribou has revealed the title track via Soundcloud.Written in collaboration with Canadian multi-instrumentalist Owen Pallett, ‘Our Love’ bumbles along in a summer daze before a switch up halfway through adds power and depth. The driving bass line takes the track on a journey back to the early ’90s, creating a sense of nostalgic euphoria. “This track went through a million versions,” explains Caribou. “When I sent it to Owen and asked him to write parts I was talking about the arrangement and layout of the song as a kind of chess game where the parts move around one another in a sort of dance. He came back with the spectral Penderecki high strings and the more baroque riffs you can hear which we both agreed had to be used super super sparingly so it was more like a little treat for the listener when they appeared.”The full album is out October 6th via City Slang; in the meantime, you can listen to the song ‘Our Love’ below, or secure your ticket to see Caribou on the final date of his world tour, at Brixton Academy on 14th March 2015.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
