There was a mystery brewing since Record Store Day this year. A collection of clues, which were acquired through unmarked 12 inchs scattered across the worlds record stores which would eventually leave you with a completed number sequence. Upon completing you could bring it to here and it would eventually lead you to the cryptic, lo-fi video of static and sedated music. After examining it closely the video ended with the announcement of a new Boards of Canada album entitled ‘Tomorrow’s Harvest and despite this being their first release in 8 years, we’re glad to see they haven’t lost their fire as they’ve finally shared the first content of the upcoming LP in releasing the video for their new single ‘Reach For The Dead’.

Given that it’s the Scottish duos first effort in nearly a decade expectations were high but the disquieting melancholy delivered in the new single has further raised our hopes that BoC have returned to form and are set to regain their position as the Warp tour de Force they were all those years ago. Subtle and well crafted check out the video for ‘Reach For The Dead’ below. Only a fortnight to wait now guys…

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
