Bitwig announces Studio 2.2

Share

The DAW market, like all super-high-end tech is a furiously competitive place. Pro Logic and Ableton hold the top of the hill, with NI’s Maschine integrated hardware/ software quickly gaining a cult following too. Other than that however, it’s a fairly locked scene. But all that could be about to change, thanks to Berlin based BitWig.

After the successful launch of Bitwig Studio 2.1 in May and a short summer break, they are back to proudly announce their next update: Bitwig Studio 2.2. Bitwig Studio offers a number of ways to integrate with other technology: MIDI, MIDI Clock Master/Slave, MTC, CV & Gate and hardware audio clock; Ableton Link is the latest addition to this versatile feature set.

Alongside the Bitwig Studio 2.2 launch they’ve announced a major sound content update. They are adding 3+ GB of multi-sampled instruments and presets. Rare organs and piano will make keyboardists and lovers of harmony and melody happy, plus they are including legendary 606 drum machine sounds sampled by their friends at Radium. This sound content update is free for all Bitwig Studio license holders with an active upgrade plan.
