Bilbao BBK Live announces LCD Soundsystem


After a two year hiatus, today Bilbao BBK Live reveals the names that will play at its fifteenth edition that will take place from 7th to 9th July 2022 in the city of Bilbao, Spain. Reuniting musicians and fans, the festival announces a bumper lineup that features some of the globe’s brightest talent from across the world.

A festival for everyone; Bilbao BBK Live returns to its enviable location, perfectly placed between the Basque mountains while still only a stone’s throw from the vibrant city of Bilbao.

To celebrate two decades on stage, as well as the 20th anniversary of their label DFA, the legendary LCD Soundsystem headline the festival on Thursday, choosing Bilbao BBK Live as their only European festival performance in 2022. The band will celebrate further with a special programme of events in Bilbao during the week of the festival, details of which will be announced soon.​​

Bilbao BBK Live continues to take audiences on a comprehensive journey into the electronic world with their expanding offering of DJs. Set within their iconic ‘Basoa’ stage, enclosed by trees and seven circular sound towers, the line up provides a deep-dive into the world’s most exciting talents and sounds including; generation leaders BICEP (live), British dance stalwart Four Tet, queen of club culture The Blessed Madonna, pioneer of Detroit techno Carl Craig, DJ and producer Eris Drew and Berlin-based Asturian JASSS.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
