Following the announcement yesterday that Modeselektor‘s 50Weapons would be closing down, label stalwart, Benjamin Damage, has revealed details of a new album forthcoming on the Berlin imprint.
Entitled Obsidian, the LP will mark the final album release for 50Weapons and Damage’s second for the label, following Heliosphere in 2013 (the previous year, he also dropped the They!Live collaborative album with Doc Daneeka).
“Obsidian is a collection of fragmented memories from all the music I’ve ever liked, distorted and restructured into a full-length techno record,” says Damage. “It’s a purely personal project and an end of an era with 50 Weapons.”
