Bastian Bux debuts on Tronic with his ‘Lagano’ EP

Currently on an incredible roll with release after release on a whole host of key labels – including Terminal M, Suara and Cocoon – Barcelona’s Bastian Bux makes his debut on Christian Smith’s Tronic label and it’s one of his most brazen EPs to date.

Bastian Bux is the consequence of reducing everything surrounding a DJ and producer to its essential element: the music. That is the intention of Bux: be stripped of all artifice and be judged by his work. Pieces full of deep textures, powerful harmonies and heavy beats; where everything is assembled with soul and sensibility, with the mastery of a craftsman and surgeon’s precision.

In front of a crowd, Bastian is able to travel elegantly from housy grooves to rough techno, going through epic melodies and sober beats, always loyal to his way of understanding music but without losing sight of the dancefloor. That ability has earned him the status one of the most eclectic residents for elrow, one of the most important brands in the world, based in Barcelona and Ibiza, and has seen him tour around the world in more than fourty countries.

‘Lagano’ takes the lead and sets the parameters. Thundering but bouncy, you can already hear the funk long before the stunning rave riff comes in. Timeless, warehouse demolishing fun.

We premiere ‘Legacy’ which opts for a faster, lighter, synth-led vibe. It nods to the likes of Fabrice Lig and friends further afield in Detroit. Upbeat, pacey and coated in rushes.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
