Basement Jaxx Reveal Album Details

A few years can seem an age for a fan of an artist who appears to have gone slightly off the radar and we’re sure it probably seemed even longer for fans British dance duo of Basement Jaxx and we were as glad as we were relieved to announce their return and unveil their comeback effort ‘Back 2 The Wild’ last year.

Retaining the playful wackiness of their previous releases ‘Back 2 The Wild’s cartoonish vocals from South Korean pair Baby Chay and Miss Emma Lee briefly sated our Basement Jaxx appetite but quickly left us wanting more. Thus you can imagine our excitement at receiving confirmation that the electro funsters had been busy in the studio working on the 7th album. Entitled ‘Junto’ which translates from Spanish as ‘Together’ we can’t wait to check out the release in it’s entirety when it lands on the London duos own Atlantic Jaxx imprint in collaboration with PIAS on August 25.

Speaking on the upcoming LP, one half of the Jaxx Felix Buxton revealed “With this album, we wanted to do something that felt more at one with the world” with the motivation behind the release being to “unify people with [Basement Jaxx’s] music.” With tracks such as “We Are Not Along,”  ‘Power to the People,” “Never Say Never,” and “Love Is at Your Side” all making their way onto the album we have every faith it’ll do just that so consider our hope raised Felix!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
