Amsterdam Dance Event Reveals First Round of Artists

The world’s biggest club festival and leading conference for electronic music will be back this year for its 18th edition! Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is back and this year it’s set to include a record 2,000 DJs and acts performing at more than 90 venues and 400 events across the city. The 2013 edition, taking place from 16th – 20th October, and expects a jaw dropping 300,000 visitors from around the world. ADE has announced an absolutely insane first round of confirmed artists to play at the festival  of which you can take a look at below.

This is a brilliant start but with an apparent 2,000 names to be announced keep your eyes peeled for even more news.

With a plethora of programs transforming parts of central Amsterdam during the day into pop-up stores and one-off, never to be repeated events, all under the guise of ADE Playground. All these events can be split into four sections; Art, Film, Gear and In-Stores, which will include studio sessions, hardware workshops, special movie screenings, exhibitions, unique offers and one-off clothing lines, as well as in-store and outdoor performances by top record labels, DJs and artists. Along with all of this ADE also has a business platform which will attract 4,000 professionals from 75 countries which will host seven separate and self-contained conference threads, including ADE Pro, ADE Tech and ADE Green amongst others. Confirmed speakers include: Nile Rodgers, Richie Hawtin, Shailendra Singh, Armin vanBuuren, Martin Kierszenbaum, Hardwell, Bob Lefsetz, Don Diablo, Nikhil Shah, Dave Smith and many others.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
